Carson City Sheriff’s Log: Inmate arrested on suspicion of drug possession

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

THURSDAY

• At 8:05 a.m., Michael Thomas, 31, was arrested on suspicion of a felony charge of drug possession while he was an inmate at Stewart Conservation Camp. The drug involved was methamphetamine. He was transferred to the Carson City Jail and held without bail.

• At 2 p.m., Carlos Diaz, 29, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of using a false ID to avoid prosecution, a felony. He was held in lieu of $15,000 bail.

FRIDAY

• At 12:43 a.m., Anthony Thomas Gelstone, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony drug charges after deputies were dispatched to Long and Rand streets on a report of a fight. When they approached, the arrest report stated Gelstone threw something under the truck deputies said turned out to be Oxycodone. He was charged with possession of dangerous drugs without a prescription and possession of a controlled substance and held in lieu of $5,000 bail.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
