RENO – The Barracuda Championship is excited to announce rising PGA TOUR professional Ollie Schneiderjans will receive a sponsor’s exemption for the 17th annual event August 3-9 at Montreux Golf & Country Club.

Schneiderjans, a Georgia Tech graduate who’s a three-time NCAA All-American golfer, held the No. 1 spot in the World Amateur rankings for 41 weeks in 2014 and racked up multiple amateur wins, including the 2009 Polo Golf Junior Classic, 2013 U.S. Collegiate Championship and 2014 ACC Championship.

As an amateur player, the 22-year-old finished in a tie for 12th at The Open Championship in Fife, Scotland, moving on to his professional debut by making the cut and finishing in a tie for 22nd at the RBC Canadian Open in Ontario last week.

“We are thrilled to have Ollie Schniederjans participating in the 2015 Barracuda Championship,” said tournament director Chris Hoff. “Part of the same graduating class as rising stars like Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas and Daniel Berger, he’s going to be an exciting player to watch at the tournament and as he continues his professional golf career.”
