A 71-year-old woman was killed in a rollover Saturday near Dyer in central Nevada.

Troopers from the Nevada Highway Patrol Tonopah station were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover accident that occurred on State Route 264, which is West of Tonopah and South of State Route 6 (North of Dyer) in Esmeralda County.

According to th NHP, the crash investigation details indicate a tan 2002 Dodge Neon driven by 7Juanita Marlene Schieberl of Dyer was traveling westbound on State Route 264 north of Dyer when, for unknown reasons, she allowed the vehicle to drift off the north paved shoulder. Mrs. Schieberl over corrected and traveled across the center line of the highway and then traveled onto the south dirt shoulder. Schieberl overcorrected to the right and the vehicle overturned.

Schieberl was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the incident and was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle came to rest on its wheels on the south dirt shoulder. Alcohol or drugs are not suspected as a factor in the cause of the incident. State Route 264 was intermittently shut down for several hours while the crash scene was investigated and diagramed. This area of SR 445 is one lane in each direction and the speed limit is 70 mph.

Trooper Saul Bermudez of the Nevada Highway Patrol’s Tonopah sub-station is investigating this incident.
