Rachel Firth-Carter, daughter of Ella Jean and Gordon Southfield of Fallon, has been promoted to assistant general manager at the prestigious member-owned private club, Monterey Peninsula Country Club in Pebble Beach, Calif.

Carter graduated from Churchill County High School in 1998 where she later received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 2003 with a major in journalism and minor in business.

Carter began her career in San Diego and was recruited to the Pebble Beach area in 2010 after the birth of her first son with husband Aaron Carter.

The promotion to assistant general manager will include overseeing the member services for the nearly 1,100 Members and their families.

She is responsible for strategic planning, communications, marketing, club services, wellness and facilities.

Carter has been recognized within the industry by Board Room Magazine, Distinguished Emerald Clubs of the World, featured in Club Business Magazine, and has had several articles published in trade magazines such as Board Room Magazine and Club Director.

Carter and her husband reside in Carmel-by-the-Sea with their two sons.
