The Sierra Nevada Association of Realtors is hosting the Alyce McCracken Scramble for Scholarships, an annual golf tournament played in honor of Alyce McCracken, a realtor and resident of Northern Nevada who had a passion for continuing education and training.

The event will be on Friday, June 19, at Eagle Valley Golf Course. Its proceeds will benefit local high schools in the communities served by the Sierra Nevada Association of Realtors, including Carson, Douglas, Churchill, and parts of Lyon counties.

Since establishing The Alyce McCracken Memorial Fund more than 11 years ago, the association has donated thousands of dollars to local high schools.

“This important event provides local realtors and business professionals an opportunity to carry on Alyce’s passion for education by giving back to our local communities,” said Dan La Porte, the association’s president.

The tournament is open to the public, and the entry fee is $75 per person. Raffle tickets will be sold, and prizes will be awarded for the putting contest, longest drive and closest to the pin. Participants also can register to win a $5,000 hole-in-one.

Tee time is at 1 p.m., with check-in at noon and dinner and awards at 4 p.m.
