The Nevada Department of Transportation has begun to apply a top sealant coating to U.S. 50 between Mound House and Silver Springs.

Through Thursday, one lane will be closed in each direction of U.S. 50 approximately between the State Route 342 junction and Chaves Road. The following week, June 21 through June 25, one lane will be closed in each direction from approximately Stagecoach to the Silver Springs junction.

All of the work will take place during overnight hours with one lane closed in each direction between approximately 8 p.m.-5 a.m. All lanes will remain open during daytime hours.

The flush seal being applied to U.S. 50 consists of less than an inch of oil to help reseal and rejuvenate the asphalt for longer roadway life. Motorists are advised to drive at posted construction speed limits, or slower as necessary for conditions.
