Carson City’s Rockin’ Rev interviewing Memphis music greats on radio program

This Saturday Ken Haskins, pastor of Carson City’s First Christian Church, will be dialing Memphis, Tennessee, to interview two Sun recording artists. At 2:30 p.m. the Rockin’ Rev will interview rockabilly legend, Sonny Burgess, famous for the records, “We Wanna Boogie” and “Red Headed Woman,” on Reminiscing With the Rockin’ Rev, a weekly radio program broadcast live from Reno Town Mall.

The Rockin’ Rev will interview J.M. Van Eaton, who played drums on records for Jerry Lee Lewis, Billy Lee Riley, Carl Mann, Johnny Cash and Charlie Rich, at 3:30 p.m.

This week’s program’s theme is “The music that built Memphis.” “Reminiscing With The Rockin’ Rev” can be heard on AM 1180 KCKQ or at www.americamatters.us Saturdays from 2 to 6 p.m.
