The Carson City Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team will take part in training for handling wandering persons cases.

The training will be working in conjunction with Jacob Harmon, director of the Alzheimer’s Association of Northern Nevada, to participate in the Wandering Prevention Program, to help train in effective tracking, identification, special needs and other skills needed when searching for people with Alzheimer’s and other related impairments.

Wandering persons are at risk of becoming lost and putting themselves in danger, and the program is meant to help officers use the most modern techniques in protecting wandering persons,

This program will be held in the Ormsby Room at the Sheriff’s Office on July 16 at 6 p.m. Lyon and Douglas county search and rescue teams, Carson City deputies and V.I.P volunteers also will participate.
