Western Safe Routes to Schools hosting children’s bike safety event Tuesday in Silver City

Children ages 5-12 will learn road rules and safety, participate in bike maneuvers and exercises, and receive new bicycle helmets at a bike safety rodeo hosted by Western Safe Routes to Schools from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the basketball courts at 385 High St. in Silver City.

The event is part of Silver City’s annual series of free children’s summer activities, including science and engineering experiments, a field trip to Shakespeare at Lake Tahoe, and poetry and music workshops.
