The Carson City Symphony is calling musicians to rehearse from 7 to 9:15 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, 1750 Mountain St., for its Spring Celebration concert on April 26. Other rehearsals are planned in the band room at Carson High School.

The Symphony, conducted by David Bugli, is a volunteer orchestra of about 55 players who perform music from the 15th to 21st centuries. It is open to string players at any time without audition, and to other instrumentalists when positions are available. Current openings are for violins, violas, and French horn.

The Spring Celebration concert features music by Mozart, Brahms, and Grieg, with soloists Sally Turk, flute, and Michael Langham, harp, and the Carson City Symphony Chorus. The chorus rehearses on Tuesday nights and also has openings.

To participate, call the Symphony at 775-883-4154. For more information about the concert and the performing groups, go to CCSymphony.com.
