Free medical care will be provided Saturday at Calvary Chapel, 1635 Clearview Dr., in Carson City as part of the In Jesus Name Medical Ministry.

The ministry involves a group of local physicians, nurses and volunteer staff running a mobile medical clinic, and it is available as a service for anyone with insufficient health care coverage, according to a flier put out by the ministry.

“We’ll have family practice, pediatrics and multiple specialty doctors available,” the flier indicated. Services provided may include dealing with recent or chronic illnesses, X-rays, basic injury care, general medical problems, routine history and physical examination needs, blood pressure checking and monitoring, counseling, and more. The group neither prescribes narcotics nor provides disability or legal evaluations.

Required check-in is from 9 a.m. until noon. No one appearing after that will be seen. Kids are welcomed, flu shots will be available and no appointments are necessary.
