Sharing his music has always been an objective for classic guitarist George Sakellariou.

Sakellariou presented a variety of new and old pieces during a rare Northern Nevada appearance last year, leading to an April 2 return engagement presented by Western Nevada College’s Wildcat Productions at the Brewery Arts Center.

Proceeds from the 7 p.m. concert will assist in creating a new scholarship for Wildcat Productions.

Sakellariou, 70, has said a key to entertaining for so long is to remain inspired.

“I’m always excited to try something new, not only for the audience but for me,” Sakellariou said. “That keeps me on my toes. Sharing music is so wonderful. When you perform for a community, the audience gets to know your inner soul and feelings.”

The native of Athens, Greece, has entertained audiences from Singapore to Rio de Janeiro since training at the Conservatory of Music in Athens and joining the San Francisco Conservatory of Music as a 20-year-old.

Ticket prices are $8 for students $15 for general admission and $10 for BAC members, senior citizens and military members.

For more information, contact the BAC at 775-883-1976 or www.breweryarts.org. Tickets can be purchased online, by phone or at the BAC, 449 King St., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
