Five arrests have been made by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office after a report of multiple shots heard Tuesday in the area of the 1400 North Edmonds Drive in East Carson City.

Christopher Maddox, 22, was arrested on suspicion of obstructing an officer and discharging a weapon in a public place. Bail was set at $2,500. Also arrested on suspicion of the following were:

Mona Crabtree, 46, obstructing an officer, bail set at $300; Brittany Clack, 19, warrant, violation of a suspended sentence; Russell James, 41, warrant, contempt of court and possession of a controlled substance; and Daniel Sperske, 25, warrant, contempt of court.

The incident occurred when deputies reported on scene at 10:42 a.m. when shots still were being fired in the middle of the street. No injuries were reported. Witnesses to the shooting reported a car with four men in it pulled up in the middle of the block of 1400 Edmonds and began shooting.

The area of Brown Street and North Edmonds remained closed to the public as officers continued searching residences believed associated with the shooting. At least three residences were being targeted for searches, as well as a vehicle.

Officers recovered a 9mm handgun believed to have been used in the shooting and identified by Christopher Maddox during his interrogation, as the weapon he used. Maddox is believed to have been the only shooter.
