Courage and compassion to do the right thing are major themes in “Two Among the Righteous Few: A Story of Courage in the Holocaust,” a book by Marty Brounstein, a California author who’s going to be featured at 7 p.m. May 6 at First Christian Church, 2211 Mouton Drive.

The presentation is sponosored by FISH, the Salvation Army Church, First Christian Church and St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community.

Brounstein heads The Practical Solutions Group, a consultant firm that specializes in leadership and organization effectiveness. He’s the author of eight books, including “Communicating Effectively for Dummies” and “Coaching and Mentoring for Dummies.”

His ninth book, also the topic of his presentation in Carson City, follows the story of a Frans and Mien Wijnakker, a Christian couple who saved the lives of more than two dozen Jews in the Netherlands during World War II. Brounstein’s presentation will touch on his own personal connection with the Wijnakker’s story.

Brounstein tours cities across the United States sharing his story. He’s been the keynote speaker for two Holocaust Remembrance Day events, and is set to be featured at a third next month.
