The Nevada Highway Patrol says charges are pending in the death of one person and injury of two others in a head-on crash near Fernley that closed a stretch of U.S. Highway 50-A for several hours Sunday afternoon.

The Nevada Highway Patrol identified the victim Monday as 19-year-old Isis Fetty of Silver Springs.

She was the driver of a northbound Mercedes-Benz that was hit by a southbound Saturn sedan that crossed the center line about noon Sunday a mile south of Fernley High School.

The driver of the Saturn, 27-year-old Megan Amirr, and a passenger in the Mercedes, 40-year-old Allyson Marie Tansler, were taken to a Reno hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Trooper David Gibson says they are investigating the possibility a controlled substance played a role in the wreck.
