The Nevada Division of the Pony Express is operating the first active Pony Express station, which will stamp cards and letters while retracing the history of the mail service operation that used horses and riders to deliver letters from Sacramento, Calif., to east of the Rockies.

Nevada Day Inc. is hosting a reception for the Nevada Division of the Pony Express from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 3, at Nevada Day Store and Trading Post, 108 W. Telegraph St.

Actors as Jack Waggon, Bad Billy Mayfield and the Naughty Tea Mistresses of Nevada will be on hand, and attendees can have their cards and letters stamped with an official Pony Express stamp. Refreshments will be served from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
