Alyce Potterton Albus was born in 1926 and raised in Phildelphia, PA, graduating from Germantown High School in 1944. After graduation, Alyce went to work as a secretary for several Philadelphia companies before going to work at Philco, where she met the love of her life, Donald Albus. They were married in 1954 and Alyce became a homemaker. Their family eventually moved to Ambler, PA in 1959, where they enjoyed raising their two children Dawn and Andrew (deceased). Alyce and Don were close to family and had many wonderful friendships during this time. In 1978, Don’s work moved the family to sunny San Jose, CA, where they remained until 2007. Again, Alyce and Don had many wonderful friends in California, and when they “retired”, they had the opportunity to travel and have many adventures throughout the world. Alyce and Don choose to move closer to their daughter Dawn and her family, so they packed up and moved to Carson City, Nevada. While in Carson City, they were able to watch their granddaughters grow up, graduate high school and move on to college while enjoying the slower paced life in Nevada. After Don’s passing, Alyce moved to Sierra Place Senior and Assisted Living Facility in Carson City, where she had a bright sunny apartment, great food she did not have to cook herself while enjoying family visits, new friends and staff. Alyce’s smiling face will be missed by everyone. Alyce was preceded in death by her husband Donald and their son Andrew. She is survived by her daughter Dawn (Rosenberg), son-in-law Mel, granddaughters Alexa and Jackie as well as nieces Pam Shah, Mary Pat Olley, Robin Jaffe and nephew Marc Jaffe. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
