Commissioners meet tomorrow

The first County Commission meeting of May will be conducted tomorrow at 8:15 a.m. at the Churchill County Administration Building chambers, 155 N. Taylor St.

Among the items commissioners will discuss and that are up for possible action include the following:

Consideration and possible action regarding volunteer recognition for the Volunteer Income Tax Program.

Consideration and possible action regarding approval of the annual contract with Cashman Equipment for scheduled maintenance of emergency generators.

Consideration and possible action regarding Nevada State Board on Geographic Names proposal to name a feature in Churchill County on a peak on the west flank of Sehoo Mountain for Roger B. Morrison, an internationally known field geologist who studied the prehistoric Lake Lahontan.

Consideration and possible action regarding approval of the Conservation Easement and Purchase Agreement Proposal for William and Gwendolyn Washburn, Trustees of the Washburn Family Trust dated February 18, 2010.

Consideration and possible action regarding request transfer of funds to the Churchill County Road Department for first and final payment on various FY 2015 road and bridge projects.

Consideration and possible action regarding Central Nevada Regional Water Authority (CNRWA) fiscal year 2016 member assessment.

Consideration and possible action regarding John and Vella Torvik — an application for a Sending Site and Transfer of Development Rights calculation for property located at 455 N. Harmon Road, APN: 007-571-18.

Consideration and possible action regarding updating Wells Fargo Securities, LCC Certificate of Authority-General Form for Churchill County.

Consideration and possible action regarding requests from two law enforcement employees to participate in Churchill County’s Retirement Incentive Plan and Churchill County’s purchase of PERS credit.

Consideration and possible action regarding Churchill County‘s application to acquire properties (APN: 008-473-09 and 008-473-35) being held in trust by the Churchill County Treasurer for nonpayment of property taxes and the removal of said parcels from the list of properties to be sold at public auction.
