Elizabeth M. “Betty” Simar

Our dear mother Elizabeth M. “Betty” Simar, long time Fallon resident, passed away Saturday night May 9, 2015 at the age of 91. She was born January 24, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA. She married the love of her life Alvin G. Simar November 10, 1945 and lived a fulfilling life. She was involved with the St. Patricks’ Lady’s Guild, VFW and homemaker’s club. Betty was a volunteer at the school for many years

listening to the children read. She also volunteered at the senior citizen center. Betty is survived by 4 daughters, Mary (Paul) Caria, Cathy (Tom) Rickerl, Tessie (Phil) Winningham, Liz (Dan) Williams, 7 grandchildren, sister Madeline, sister in law Gennie Ledbetter a very special niece Carol Ann Renshaw and nephew Jim (Marcia) Cwick and Rosie “The Cat”. She was preceded in death by her husband Al, twin sister and best friend Mary Cwick, her other sister and 4 brothers. The family would like to thank all friends and caregivers for their love and support. A special thank you to Gary and Danette Laca, Ivan and Judy Evans and her nieces Sybil (Mike) Thayer and Lucy Rickman. Visitation and viewing will be held Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home, 505 Rio Vista Dr. 423-2255. Recitation of the rosary will be at 7PM. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 11AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
