Robert Bob Wayne Hollingsworth passed away Aug. 9, 2014 at the Hilo Medical Center in Hilo, HI. He was born April 22, 1940 in Campo. CO to Ira D Hollingsworth and Georgia Belle Clifford Hollingsworth. He graduated from Woodland Park High School class of 1948 in Woodland Park, CO. Bob started out as an iron worker. He worked with his father and older brother Francis on the Chapel at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. After finishing work on the Chapel Bob would become a life time member of the Brotherhood of Teamsters. During his years as a water truck drive for road construction crews he earned the name “Sweetwater Bob”. Bob moved to Dayton, NV. in the early 70’s where he spent many summers taking his children fishing and shooting. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and spending time with friends and family. Bob always had a good story to tell. After retiring Bob traveled before moving to his home permanently in Pahoa, HI full time. Bob was also a life time member of the Elks Lodge in Cripple Creek, CO. He is preceded in death by both his parents. Survivors include his daughter Sally Hollingsworth of Pleasant Hill, MO; son Micheal Hollingsworth of Cedar Falls, IA; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. There will be a Memorial Service for Bob on June 12, 2015 from 7pm to 8pm at the Dayton INN in Dayton, NV.
