The Minden shop of Northern Nevada Coin reopened on Wednesday after being closed for more than five months when a woman drove her car into the lobby.

The shop closed on Dec. 18, 2014, after Minden resident Cheryl Kaye Smith, 74, drove her Pontiac Grand Am through the front wall. No one was hurt in the incident.

Store owners said most of the damage was to the shop’s cases. The building was declared unsafe for habitation after the wreck.

In a video of the incident from the store’s security cameras, employees can be seen scrambling over counters to get out of the way of the white Pontiac.

Smith admitted a count of driving under the influence in connection with the incident.
