Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested on suspicion of assault on a peace officer, dissuading a witness

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

Carson City

FRIDAY

At 8:36 p.m., David Gross, 43, of Carson City was arrested suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance, suspended license, suspended registration and speed 11-15 over after deputies initiated a traffic stop near the Bunny Ranch and Highway 50. Bail was set at $4,875.

At 8:50 p.m., a 27-year-old Mound House woman was arrested on suspicion of marijuana less than one ounce, no driver’s license in possession, headlights required, no front license plate, obstructing and possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies initiated a traffic stop near the 3800 block of Highway 50. Bail was set at $1,860.

At 11:52 p.m., a 49-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery near the 700 block of Hot Springs Road. Bail was set at $3,000.

SATURDAY

At 1:55 a.m., a 30-year-old Mayflower, Wyo., man was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct after deputies initiated a business check at the Edmonds Drive Jackpot Casino. At the casino two women approached deputies stating a man followed them from the Slot World casino and ordered them to go home with him. Bail was set at $150.

At 6:44 p.m., a 52-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI-first offense and failure to maintain a single lane after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Strafford and Baker streets. Bail was set at $1,040.

At 7:34 p.m., Michael Edwards, 43, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony dissuade a witness from reporting a crime, assault on a peace officer and obstruction of a peace officer after deputies responded to reports of a domestic dispute near the 1400 block of Teal Drive. Bail was set at $7,800.

At 9:44 p.m., a 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI-first offense after deputies responded to reports of a possibly intoxicated driver at the Carson Street Nugget. Bail was set at $1,000.

At 9:47 p.m., a 32-year-old Dayton man was arrested on suspicion of DUI-first offense alcohol, open container and expired registration after deputies initiated a traffic stop near State and Long Streets. Bail was set at $1,125.

At 11:14 p.m., a 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI-first offense alcohol, no valid driver’s license, no valid insurance and speed 1-10 over after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Carson and John Streets. Bail was set at $1,745.

At 11:19 p.m., an 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of obstructing, minor consuming and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after deputies responded to reports of a domestic battery near the 900 block of Telegraph Drive. Bail was set at $950.

At 11:35 p.m., Keith Deforest, 52, of Dayton was arrested on suspicion of felony battery with a deadly weapon after deputies responded to reports of a welfare check for a possibly intoxicated subject near the 400 block of Nevada Street. Upon arrival, the victim told deputies that Deforest tased her. Bail was set at $30,000.

SUNDAY

At 1:11 a.m., a 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of assault and trespassing after deputies responded to reports of an unwanted subject at the Carson Street Jimmy G’s. At the same incident, a Vancouver, Wash., woman was arrested on suspicion of obstructing and a 38-year-old Reno woman was arrested on obstruction and open container in public. Bail for the man was set at $600, bail for the Washington woman was set at $300 and bail for the 38-year-old was set at $400.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
