Two motorists including one from Fallon were injured early Saturday morning in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 95 at mile marker 80 in Mineral County.

The Nevada Highway Patrol said a blue 2003 Dodge pickup driven by Kevin Frank, 22, of Schurz, was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 95. A silver 2004 Kia Optima driven by Justin Steele, 36, of Fallon, was traveling southbound approaching the blue Dodge. In an attempt to avoid the Dodge, Steele steered the Kia to the left, but the Dodge struck the right side of the Kia. After the crash, the Dodge overturned, while the Kia came to rest on the east side of the road on its wheels with major damage to the right side.

Frank was transported by Care Flight to Renown Medical Center in with unknown injuries. Steele was transported by ambulance to Banner Churchill Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both drivers have been released.
