The Carson City Marine Corps League Silver State Detachment 630 will host an event to celebrate the U.S. Marine Corps’ 240th birthday Tuesday.
The event will be held at the West Side Pour House at the corner of Telegraph and Curry streets. The event will begin with a light buffet at 4:30 p.m. with a cake cutting scheduled for 6:30, followed by the U.S. Marine Corps Commandant’s birthday message to be read by a special guest.
All military service members and their families and the general public who respect the United States military are encouraged to attend. Organizers are hoping children attend with their parents. The event is free.
