President Coolidge proclaimed Nov. 11 as Armistice Day, and asked the people of the country to express their gratitude for peace. Armistice Day marks the date when the world changed from war duties to the peaceful duties of everyday life.
The Carson High School observed Armistice Day at an assembly Friday morning. Mr. Priest asked Judge Ducker to make the address. In opening his remarks, Judge Ducker touched upon the greatness of our national constitution, briefly analyzing its nature. The greatness of our country, he showed, does not rest upon its written documents of government but upon the integrity and high purposes of the people. For the most part his talk dealt with the significance of Armistice Day and great values that came to our country from its participation in the World War.
In closing he paid a high tribute to the American Legion, and appealed to his hearers to promote the blessings of peace and develop the highest type of citizenship.
