David S. Cook reached the end of his journey Oct. 12, 2015. Born May 24, 1950 in Las Vegas to Robert E. and Jeanette (Stanton) Cook, he was fourth generation Nevadan. David moved his family from Las Vegas to Carson City in 1981 following his completion of a B.S.B.A. in Accounting and a M.B.A. from UNLV. He soon found a passion in education, serving on the local school board from 1989 to 1996 and the State Board of Education from 1997-2000 and 2008 until his passing. He retired as a professor of Economics and Business at Western Nevada College in 2009 after 27 years of teaching.Dave was a past Worshipful Master of F&AM Carson Valley #33 and was a member of the

Scottish Rite in Reno. Dave is survived by his daughters Danielle and Elizabeth, and brother, Tom. A celebration of life service will be held at Masonic Lodge #1, 113 E. Washington St. in Carson City on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015 at 10 a.m.
