No reservations or skills are required to take a free class to learn how to make lentil salad and apple pie at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at the Dayton Community Center, 170 Pike St., Dayton.

Everyone is welcome at Healthy Communities Coalition’s monthly free cooking classes with dietitian Kim Mason, and farmer and Healthy Communities’ community health advocate Rebekah Stetson.

The cooking classes usually take place on the third Monday of the month. The classes are an effort to increase access to and demand for affordable, locally and sustainably grown food.
