The Young At Heart Senior Citizens Club is again preparing Christmas Gift Bags to be distributed to Meals on Wheels recipients and other homebound seniors in Douglas County this upcoming holiday season.
Last year the program delivered more than 160 shopping bags full of gifts to seniors. To help, drop donations of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste, mouthwash, small games, scarves, gloves, socks, hats, non-perishable food, coffee, candy and other items to the Senior Center, 1329 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville, or mail them to Young at Heart, PO Box 1042, Gardnerville, NV 89410. Checks made out to Young at Heart and cash, which Young at Heart will use to buy gifts, are also being accepted.
To arrange a donation pickup, call Paul Lockwood at 775-783-6583. Donations are due by Nov. 20.
