Dogs and cats will be available for adoption at discounted rates at a shelter adoption event hosted by Douglas Animal Welfare Group, or DAWG, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Douglas County Animal Shelter, 921 Pinenut Road, Gardnerville.
