15-year-old escapee arrested.

A 15-year-old who ran away from China Spring Youth Camp and reportedly threatened to go to a school to commit a school shooting has been arrested.

At 8:30 p.m., Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies located John Luna and took him into custody. Luna was located in a local grocery store and arrested without incident or injuries. Numerous tips led to his capture.

Earlier Thursday, Luna ran away from the China Spring Youth Camp. During the subsequent investigation the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office determined John Luna may be a danger to himself and others. Luna has made threats he intends to go to a school to commit a school shooting.

The Sheriff’s Office stated it worked closely with the Douglas County School District to ensure the safety of the school facilities and students and took appropriate security precautions.
