The Warm Springs Road. Until recently the Warm Springs Road has been repaired by the proprietors of the Warm Springs Hotel. They spent thousands of dollars on it by hauling rock from the prison and raising it some 18 inches. Now the County Commissioners have dumped a few loads of rock on it and think it is in magnificent condition. Action is needed by the County Commissioners and City Trustees. Will they act or buck?

Recently the papers of the Pacific Coast have been republishing an article from the Scientific American descriptive of the imaginary horrors of Death Valley. This remarkable work of imagination pictures the valley as entirely destitute of human life and often relates man and beast often perish in attempts to cross it ... the truth is that Death Valley is not only inhabitable but inhabited.
