An international phenomenon called “paint and sip” is coming to Carson City with initial classes today at Mona Lisa and Wine, a new business, according to the owner.

The paint and sip party place for classes and glasses of patrons’ favorite libations, including wine or spirits, is located at 3821 S. Carson St., in the shopping center near Raley’s parking lot next to Buffalo Wild Wings. This evening there is a private grand opening celebration, while classes for the public begin today.

“This is an event to enjoy yourself and have a good time,” said Diana Basche, the owner. “We provide more than just a night out. If you know how to paint, great; and if you don’t know how to paint, it’s even more fun.”

Mona Lisa and Wine, a concept of Frances Grace, LLC, is available to interested persons who sign up for classes at www.MonaLisaAndWine.com, or by telephoning (775) 888-9202, according to Basche.

She said classes and sipping will be Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., as well as Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and on Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Each class provides guests who sign up with instruction, canvas, paint, an apron, brushes, a libation of choice and a social experience combined with a goal, according to a news release from Basche.

“Guests leave with their own fabulous work of art,” according to the Basche announcement.
