As a result of reports of increased coyote activity at the Riverview Park, this year’s 5k9 Fun Run/Walk, a fundraiser for the Carson Animal Shelter Initiative, has been canceled.
Those who had pre-registered for Saturday’s run will have their money returned to them.
“We’re disappointed to have to cancel, but we’d hate for anything to happen to someone’s dog or to the coyotes,” said Lisa Schuette, CASI president.
The Pooch Plunge will still happen 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Carson Aquatic Center, 841 N. Roop St.
