Three Fernley Republican Women members — Anita Trone; Peggy Gray and Peggy Zinski — attended the National Federation of Republican Women Biennial Convention Sept. 10-13 in Phoenix, Ariz., where more than 1,200 Republican women gathered from across the nation.
Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina and Ted Cruz spoke at the event, as did former First Lady of Arkansas Janet Huckabee. Other representatives were present, and Donald Trump, Scott Walker, and Dr. Ben Carson addressed the convention by video.
Fernley Republican Women seeks donations for its Caring for America/Adopt-a-Soldier program, which collects non-perishable foods for the Fernley Food Bank along with donations of funds and care items for soldiers.
