Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested on suspicion of DUI, hit and run

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

SATURDAY

At 3:37 a.m., a 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI-first offense after deputies responded to reports of a suicidal subject near Roop Street and Northridge Drive. The man allegedly told family he was trying to die from suicide by cop by threatening police with a gun. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 4:37 p.m., Candace Andrews, 56, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies observed a car with stolen license plates near Winnie Lane and Roop Street. At the same incident, a 59-year-old transient man was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, fictitious plates and driving with a suspended license. Bail for Andrews was set at $3,500 and bail for the 59-year-old was set at $1,050.

At 9:40 p.m., a 34-year-old San Jose, Calif., man was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct after deputies responded to reports of a male being uncooperative with security at the Research Way Harley-Davidson store. Bail was set at $150.

At 10:51 p.m., a 62-year-old Sacramento, Calif., woman was arrested on suspicion of obstructing after deputies responded to reports of a fight at the Research Way Harley-Davidson. Bail was set at $300.

SUNDAY

At 12:16 a.m., a 55-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription, DUI-first offense and basic speed over after deputies initiated a traffic stop near N. Carson Street and William Street. Bail was set at $3,650.

At 12:34 p.m., a 53-year-old Silver Springs woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI-first offense and failure to maintain a lane after deputies initiated a traffic stop at the Highway 50 AM/PM. Bail was set at $1,040.

At 1:13 a.m., a 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI-second offense and driving with a suspended registration after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Roop and 2nd Street. Bail was set at $75.

At 4:58 a.m., a 46-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, hit and run-property and open container after deputies responded to a DUI investigation near the 2600 block of Blossom View Lane. Bail was set at $1,600.

At 10:41 p.m., a 62-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery and abuse of a vulnerable person after deputies responded to a man allegedly hurting his daughter with Down Syndrome near the 2600 block of Brentwood Drive. Bail was set at $5,500.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
