1935 - 2015



Allan was born May 30, 1935 in Chicago. Illinois, to Howard and Virginia (Lyon) Gillette. Allan had 5 siblings, Larry, Bruce, Phyllis, Douglas and Donald. He moved to California when he was 15 years old. He joined the USAF in 1952 during the Korean War. He served honorably from 1952 - 56 as an Aircraft Mechanic and 4 years inactive reserves. He was married to Carole J. Pantano from 1956 -1957. They had a son Allan E. Gillette. He married Beverlee J. Renouf in 1958. They had five children: Laura, Larry, Allison, Diana and Robert. He retired from Department of Corrections, State of California as a Correctional Lieutenant after twenty nine years of service. He also was a member of Carson City Elks Lodge #2177 for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Larry and Douglas,also his first wife Carole and eldest daughter Laura (Gillette-McKinley) Lamberson. Allan leaves behind his wife Beverlee, Sons: Allan, Laurence, Robert Gillette, Daughters: Allison (Everett) Turpin, and Diana (David) McGregor. Also, Stepsons: Michael Pitts and John Marshall. Sister: Phyllis Willame, Brothers: Bruce, Donald (Patti) Gillette. Allan also had 25 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins and longtime friend and working associate of 53 years Tom Williams and close friends Bob and Sharon Booth. At Allan’s request there will be no services and he will be cremated by FitzHenry’s Funeral Home and Crematory. His ashes will be scattered at a designated place of choice.
