In addition, on Saturday, Churchill County High School’s Tristen Thomson competed in Stockton, Calif., at the Pacific Tiger High School Cross Country Invitational. There were 32 California High Schools attending the invitational, and more than 700 individuals from about 50 schools from the surrounding states competed.

Notably, Churchill County was the sole Nevada entry at this meet, represented only by Thomson.

Thomson competed in the Varsity Large School Division that included competitive schools such as Bella Vista, Merced and Davis, Calif.

Thomson ran a personal best 5K (3.1 mile) with a time of 16:47 and placed 17th out of 183 Varsity Large School athletes. He medaled for his performance.

Currently, Thomson is now ranked third in the Division 1-A North, and fifth in the state Division 1-A.
