St. Gall Parish of Gardnerville is no longer a part of St. Theresa’s Parish of Carson City, but now has its resident pastor, who is Father Makula, formerly of Winnemucca, who has been designated as administrator in charge.

Under the new arrangement, Monsignor H.J. Wientjes remains in charge of St. Theresa’s Parish, but now has no assistant, due to the setting up of St. Gall’s as a separate parish.

The Rev. Hugo Smith, who was assistant to Monsignor Wientjes, has been transferred to Elko.

This continues the Appeal’s review of news stories and headlines during its Sesquicentennial year.
