RENO — The FBI is looking for a suspect who held up one south Reno bank and tried to rob another less than two hours later.

Reno police say the clean-shaven, black man in his 20s made off with an undetermined amount of cash shortly after 11 a.m. Monday after demanding money from a teller at Meadows Bank near Meadowood Mall.

At about 12:40 p.m., police say he gave another teller a note demanding money at a Wells Fargo branch on South Virginia Street, 1.5 miles away.

Police say the second teller refused and the suspect fled. Witnesses say he didn’t display a gun in either case.

He’s described as 5-foot-9 to 6-foot tall, with a thin build, wearing sunglasses and a black baseball cap with red lettering. He wore a red shirt beneath a grey hoodie with “NY 1967” written on the front.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 1-800-CALLFBI (225-5324), or Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.
