Harriette Jennifer Bachman

Harriette Bachman, passed on peacefully to her heavenly father on March 15, 2016 in Los Angeles. She was born on July 17, 1944 to James H. and Myra Louise Jones (Hinkey) in Boise, Idaho. She was the oldest sibling of their 6 children. She spent her early life living in different places as the family moved with the Air Force, and recalled with special fondness, her time spent living in Japan as a very young woman. She was married to her loving

husband, Lynn Bachman, on Sept. 5, 1965 with whom she shared her life for 50 years, and had two loving wonderful children. She devoted her life to raising her family, and will be remembered as a caring mother who was without fail, always there when you needed her. She spent many years raising her family in Los Altos, California and received Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1996 from San Jose State University of which she was very proud. She later moved to Gardnerville, Nevada where she spent some years working in a special education setting, and enjoying her semi-retirement years. Her last year was spent living in Laguna Hills, where she loved the weather and gardens. She will be missed greatly, and is survived by her children, Jennifer and Anthony, and her four grandchildren, Marin, Gretel, Theadin, and Ethan. Harriette was a faithful and very active member in her Christian Science church and community for over 35 years. She loved to be out in nature, soaking up the sunshine, and taking long walks and hikes when she was able. Mom used to love to garden, and grew beautiful beds of impatiens. Tending to her flowers was one of her greatest delights, and fed the stillness within her. She liked to sing, and did so beautifully. When you looked at or talked to mom, you knew she lived her life with great joy. She found pleasure in the simple things, and continuously found a way to smile. As per her wishes, her family will gather for a private ceremony this summer, in her honor. To her family and friends, she always had you in her heart. We love you mom, and as you told us on so many occasions, no matter what the circumstances, we know that ‘all is well’ with you.
