The Carson City School Board will be interviewing three applicants for the board’s District 6 vacancy in the middle of May.

The three applicants are Marena Works, Julie Oliver and Susan Rosseter Hart. Works is the Director of Operations for Nevada Health Centers and the former director of the Carson City Senior Center, along with being former deputy and interim Carson City city manager. Oliver was the administrative assistant with the Nevada Department of Education and Hart was the chief deputy Controller for the state of Nevada.

“We are really happy that we received these applications from such confident individuals,” said Superintendent Richard Stokes.

The district has been looking for a new District 6 trustee since March 31 when Deonne Contine resigned from the position.

The board will be holding interviews for the applicants May 10 during the School Board meeting. Following the interview process, the Board of Trustees may make a selection, defer the selection, or re-advertise for the position.
