Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Man surrenders to police after brief stand-off

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

FRIDAY

At 5:03 a.m., a 77-year-old San Francisco, Calif., woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI after deputies responded to reports of a woman passed out in a vehicle near Nye Lane and Carson Street. At the same incident, Jennila McDaniel, 38, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Bail for the 77-year-old was set at $1,000 and bail for McDaniel was set at $3,500.

At 1:04 p.m., a 52-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing and violation of a suspended sentence after deputies responded to reports of an unwanted subject near the 100 block of Long Street. Bail was set at $1,150.

At 4:56 p.m., a 34-year-old transient man was arrested on suspicion of contempt of court after deputies conducted a consensual stop near Northridge Drive and Russell Way. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 7:16 p.m., Peter Wene, 56, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony resisting with a firearm, felony possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and nine counts of possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies responded to reports of theft near the 2800 block of Menlo Drive. Wene refused to open the door to speak with deputies and threatened to shoot them and himself if he came outside. He eventually surrendered to deputies after about an hour. Bail was set at $24,000.

At 11:02 p.m., a 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery and two counts of failure to appear warrants after deputies responded to reports of a dispute near the 4700 block of S. Carson Street. Bail was set at $4,373.

SATURDAY

At 12:38 a.m., a 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and failure to stop or yield signs after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Airport and Gordonia. Bail was set at $1,050.

At 12:47 a.m., a 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and expired registration after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Winnie Lane and Roop Street. Bail was set at $1,025.

At 1:11 a.m., a Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of battery and assault on a peace officer after deputies responded to reports of a fight near the 1100 block of Glacier Street. At the same incident, a 28-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of violation of bail conditions. Bail for the man was set at $3,500 and bail for the woman was set at $3,000.

At 2:28 a.m., a 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of probation violation after deputies responded to reports of a suspicious subject near Nichols Lane and Carmine Street. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 4:00 a.m., a 32-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of Department of Alternative Sentencing violation after deputies responded to reports of a dispute near the 1700 block of N. Carson Street. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 6:06 p.m., Jennifer Helton, 28, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription, petit larceny and possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies responded to reports of a woman taking items from the Market Street Walmart. Bail was set at $6,250.

At 6:53 p.m., a 42-year-old Reno man was arrested on suspicion of DUI-second offense, driving with license suspended/revoked, no valid insurance, violation of a suspended sentence, contempt of court and failure to maintain a single lane after deputies initiated a traffic stop near I580 and Arrowhead Drive. At the same incident, a 23-year-old Reno man was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated pedestrian, open container and obstructing a peace officer. Bail for the 42-year-old was set at $6,156 and bail for the 23-year-old was set at $425.

At 10:06 p.m., a 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of ex-felon failed to register after deputies responded to reports of a possible stabbing near College Parkway. Bail was set at $150.

At 11:41 p.m., an 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of probation violation after deputies responded to reports of a suspicious subject near Colorado Street and Marilyns Way. Bail was set at $3,000.

SUNDAY

At 12:55 a.m., a 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of violation of a suspended sentence after deputies conducted a consensual stop near Winnie Lane and Carson Street. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 3:13 a.m., a 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of probation violation after deputies responded to reports of people failing to pay taxi fare near the Carson Street Wendy’s. Bail was set at $1,000.

At 11:35 p.m., a 50-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of violation of a suspended sentence after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Fairview Drive and Roop Street. Bail was set at $1,000.

MONDAY

At 1:00 a.m., a 21-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of three counts of contempt of court warrants after deputies conducted a business check at the Carson Street Nugget Casino. Bail was set at $15,000.

At 3:51 a.m., a 38-year-old transient woman was arrested on suspicion of three counts of contempt of court warrants after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Mills Park. Bail was set at $2,158.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes.
