James (Jim) Harold Menath

August 8, 1929 - July 27, 2016

James Harold Menath passed away in his sleep beside his loving wife of 65 1/2 years, Patricia. Jim and Pat have made Carson City their home for the last 50 years. Many residents have seen their beloved fox terriers patrolling the corner of Mountain and Washington Streets. Jim graduated from Grant Union High School in Portland, Oregon and the University of Portland with a BA. He received his MA in Education at Lewis and Clark College. Jim was an educator working as a teacher and principal in White Pine County and Superintendent of Grant County Schools in John Day, OR. He retired from the Nevada State Department of Education. He completed his working career as Building Administration Manager at Harrahs and Director of Facilities Services at Pasadena City College. Jim’s most enjoyable times were working directly with children. He enjoyed coaching, pigeon racing, fishing, hunting and golf. He was a lover of nature and the great outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Pat and children Sherrie (Gary) Fritts, Mike (Lisa) Menath and Kyle (Kathi) Menath. Jim also leaves six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
