Carson City health inspections for Aug. 3

Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Aug. 3. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

Bleu Cafe, 244 E. Winnie Lane, scored 100 points.

El Pollo Loco, 1923 E. Highway 50, 100 points.

FISH Family Dining and FISH Food Bank, 138 E. Long St., 100 points.

Just Brew It, 1214 N. Carson St., 100 points.

La Posada Real, bar, 3205 Retail Drive, 100 points.

Nature’s Bakery, 5150 Convair Drive, 100 points.

Starbucks, 3328 N. Carson St., Suite 15, 100 points.

Sunopta Fruit Group, 2801 Conestoga Drive, 100 points.

Dotty’s, 3305 Market St., Suite 100, 98 points. Biofilm was found on interior panels of the ice machine.

Mom & Pop’s Diner, 224 S. Carson St., 98 points. Not all food items were properly labeled and dated. The walls and ceilings in the kitchen needed to be cleaned.

Slotworld, Betsy’s Cafe, 3879 E. Highway 50, 98 points. Biofilm was found in the ice machine near the rear exit door.

Dunkin Donuts, 2190 E. William St., 91 points. The hot water faucet was missing from the employee hand wash sink near the food preparation line. Garbage storage container lids were not closed. The exhaust hood needed to be cleaned. There was no certified food handler on duty.

McDonald’s, 2001 N. Carson St., 91 points. Water was not being supplied to the employee hand wash sink. The handle of the ice scoop was touching ice. Biofilm was found inside an ice machine. A garbage storage container lid was open. Spilled grease was found.

Pho Country, 2495 N. Carson St., 89 points. The rear entry door was being propped open with a box, making possible the entry of flies and other pests, corrected on site. Not all foods were properly labeled and dated. Egg rolls and chicken were not properly covered. Shelves in the dry food storage area needed to be cleaned. There were no disinfectant buckets set up in the work areas of the kitchen. Garbage storage container lids were not closed. The exhaust hood needed to be cleaned.

La Posada Real, restaurant, 3205 Retail Drive, 86 points. Chlorine residual was missing from the final rinse cycle of the chemical dishwasher. Unwrapped food was found in the freezer. Garbage storage container lids were not closed. Grease was found spilled on the concrete slab in the garbage storage area. Several uncovered barrels of grease were found in the waste storage area. The lights in the walk-in freezer needed to be replaced. The baffles of the exhaust hood needed to be cleaned. There was no certified food handler on duty.
