Volunteer needed to serve on Carson City Open Space Advisory Committee

The Carson City Open Space Advisory Committee has an opening.

The position is for a partial term expiring January 2017 to fill a seat vacated by Toby Welborn who is moving to Portland, Ore.

Applications to fill the position are available at Carson City Executive Offices, 201 N. Carson St. All submitted applications are public information.

To qualify, applicants must be Carson City registered voters.

The purpose of the committee is to promote the quality of life for citizens of Carson City through the preservation and protection of the natural environment.

Committee meetings are held the third Monday of every other month at 5:30 p.m. in the Sierra Room at the Carson City Community Center.

Applications will be accepted until Sept. 2. Interviews for this volunteer position are tentatively planned to be held at the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting on Sept. 15.
