Flag retirement bins to be placed in Carson City

The first of three flag retirement bins coming to the capital city will be placed at the Carson City Library at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Fort Churchill Society Children of the American Revolution and Battle Born Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution will be placing and dedicating the bin at as part of C.A.R. State President Chloe Woodbury’s State Project. Woodbury, 8, is a third grade student at Fritsch Elementary School. The public is invited to deposit flags into the bins to ensure proper retirement. A second bin will be at the Carson Flag Store, 3688 Research Way, which will give a 10 percent discount on the purchase of a new U.S. flag to anyone who brings in a flag for retirement.
