Thoughts on pet, driving responsibilities

A couple of comments: first a response to Elaine Shields’ letter on pet responsibility.

I agree with her, except my cats like to enjoy my flowers as much as I do. I just want to remind people to call the animal shelter if they find a lost cat. I hope someone is giving Huey, my orange tabby, a good home.

Second, no matter how old you or your car is, always get the name and insurance of the person who hit you.

The young girl who hit me on the corner of College Parkway and Research Way last May said she thought she could beat me. It didn’t look like there was much damage until I tried to get the hood up much later and it was jammed.

So I learned my lesson the hard way about always getting the insurance. Now I have to pay for a new hood.
