Explore the history of the Pony Express and how it was significant in helping to save the Union. Chautauqua Kim Harris will deliver a 45-minute performance, followed by question and answer session on the history of the Pony Express and its most famous riders, such as Pony Bob Haslam and Bronco Charlie Miller, who lived here in Northern Nevada.
The event is from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 at the campground at Dayton State Park. The program is free after the park entrance fee of $7 per vehicle. There is a $2 discount for Nevada residents. Cash or checks are accepted.
