Workshop about how to teach U.S. citizenship class Sept. 1 in Carson City

Volunteers are sought to help immigrants in Carson City study for their citizenship tests.

A free workshop about how to teach a United States citizenship class is from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1 at United Latino Community, 1711 N. Roop St., at the corner of Roop Street and Beverly Drive.

Training and materials will be provided to volunteers for free. A lead teacher and assistant teachers are needed for Saturday mornings.

Trainers will be on hand to teach the class several times until new volunteers are comfortable to teach on their own.
