Dec 02, 1930 - Dec 02, 2016

Ben Pritchard passed away at his home December 2, 2016 surrounded by his family.

Ben was born to Dorothy and Frank Pritchard in Sarasota, Florida; the only son in a family of 6. He entered the Air Force after high school, which took him to the Panhandle of Texas where he met and married his wife of 64 years. They moved to Santa Monica, CA in 1951 and raised 4 children. They moved to Ojai, CA in 1980 where they lived until 1998 when they moved to Minden, NV. He loved this valley and made many dear friends. Ben worked for McDonald Douglas until his retirement in 1985.

He is survived by his wife, four children, 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He was a remarkable man who constantly and consistently held a positive outlook on life, even in the face of adversity. He was a role model to all who knew and loved him. His life was forever altered when he joined Alcoholics Anonymous; through this program, in his words, “he gained a second life.” He was an active member of AA and worked tirelessly for others in their own struggle for change. He gave back more to his family and community than he ever received and did so seemingly effortlessly.

Services will be held at the Carson Valley Inn on December 18th at 2:00 P.M.
